Our client is an Extra care scheme for people aged 55 and over. The scheme is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week offering person centred care and support to customers  based on their individual risk and needs assessment and care and support plan, both devised with the customer to promote choice, independence and empower the individual to live a fulfilled and active life. Customers have their own self-contained flat and access to communal facilities including restaurant with regular social activities organised at the scheme.

The Cook/Kitchen Assistant will be responsible for a Cook/Chill meal service (Reheating of food for the main meal of the day and the preparation of light bites and breakfast where required)

Light bites will include but not be limited to the following:
Sandwiches, salads, jacket potatoes, tea and coffee etc).
Working to instruction as well as on your own initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To comply with the appropriate legal requirements within the catering department.
  • To complete all aspects of preparation that includes reheating and presentation of food promptly
  • To maintain company standards of food/personal hygiene and food safety, to take appropriate action as required.
  • To serve menu items to customers, as directed and in line with the company standards to promote a friendly customer orientated atmosphere. Along with being aware of various cultural and dietary needs liaising with the management team on how these needs are to be addressed.
  • To undertake all aspects of cleaning – floors and walls, fixtures and fittings, pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, glassware, in line with company specification and in accordance to the cleaning rota, or as required/directed. Ensuring that the kitchen and ancillary areas are clean and tidy at all times, especially the end of each shift.
  • To assist in the placing of orders, checking and receiving deliveries, in accordance with food handling procedures, ensuring on sufficient supplies for service delivery.

 Person Specification

Minimum of Food Safety level 2 qualification is required or must be obtained within the first 6 months of employment (City and Guilds 706 1&2 or the equivalent NVQ level 2 is preferred) Have experience working within a commercial kitchen is preferred.

– Experience of face to face customer service
– Cook chill experience is desirable
– Knowledge of HACCP and implementation desirable
-To produce clear, detailed legal documentation e.g. Food/Fridge & Freezer temperature records

Working hours:
Full time (36 hrs per week) or part time (20 hrs per week)

Our Client is a homeless hostel for men aged 25+ servicing upto 50 residents.

They require a cook/general kitchen Assistant to prepare 2 course meals as well as heat food from frozen to the correct temperature so that it is safe for consumption. Aswell as preparing cereals, sandwiches and basic dinners.

The role can also involve an element of actual service over the counter of the food.

The role will require:
Knowledge of HACCP
A Valid DBS
Food hygiene Certificate
Cookery Certificate Desirable

Shift work on a temporary basis at the moment but will become permanent.

Our Client is a homeless hostel for men aged 25+ servicing up to 50 residents. We are looking to cover 3 weeks of work in August 2016 with a view to be ongoing. Duties will include helping with breakfast preparation and service in the kitchen area as well as cleaning the tables, mopping the floors and possibly cleaning the windows etc. Duties will swap between the different aspects.

Previous experience in this field as well as Basic level 2 food hygiene is required.

Working hours:
6am – 12:00 noon

Our Client is a homeless hostel for people age 18 – 25 providing support 24/7 all year round for vulnerable young adults.

Duties will include preparation of food ie peeling and chopping vegetables. Preparing fresh and cooking from frozen.

As it is shift work the chosen candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking /serving during Breakfast, Lunch or evening meals.

Shifts are either 7am till 6pm, 7am – 2pm or 12noon till 6pm

We are looking for assistant manager to join a pub based in Wolverhampton which serves traditional British cuisine, curry dishes, burgers and selection of salads.

Our Client is looking for somebody who will be working on an evening shifts starting aroung 5pm up until around 11:30pm.

You would be responsible for managing day to day operations, creating rotas for employees, ensuring that high level of customer service is always present whilst dealing with customers.

Pub has 12 internal members of a staff inclusive of the current manager.
We are looking for somebody with 3 years experience minimum in this role or similar role.

There is an excellent opportunity for progression to manager level role for the right candidate.

Starting hourly rate is £8 – £8.50 per hour
Work is on temp to perm basis with 3 month probation period.
